Administrators at New York City’s Barnard College are squaring off against student protesters for the first time since the Trump administration intensified scrutiny over the response to antisemitism on American campuses.

A group of student protesters have occupied a building on the campus of Barnard College, reportedly in opposition to the expulsion of two students who handed out flyers inside a Columbia University lecture.

The anti-Israel activists reportedly occupied Barnard’s Milbank Hall for several hours and assaulted security guards, forcing the cancellation of classes.

The incident, which was initially believed to be at Columbia University, was instigated by members of Columbia University Apartheid Divest.
