The launch of Shein in the heart of France’s fashion capital has triggered a backlash from environmental groups, Paris City Hall, and France’s ready-to-wear industry.
The Chinese fast-fashion retailer, which opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Paris, has come under scrutiny from French authorities and others.
France has initiated proceedings to suspend the operations of online fast-fashion retailer Shein after authorities found prohibited products, including childlike sex dolls and illegal weapons, being sold on its platform.
