After shocking the auto industry and world by announcing a merger, the Honda-Nissan alliance blew up like a dying star. Since then it’s been drama, like watching a couple break up and get back together so many times you can’t keep it straight.

Nissan is readying a major executive shakeup, which may spell the end for its current CEO, Makoto Uchida, Bloomberg and Reuters report. The Yokohama-based automaker could be looking for a new CEO after merger negotiations failed with Honda a short time ago.

Nissan (OTC:NSANY) is reportedly considering replacing CEO Makoto Uchida following the automakers declining performance and the collapse of merger talks with Honda (NYSE:HMC), according to Bloomberg.
