The Philadelphia 76ers pulled a move at the deadline by bringing in Quentin Grimes with Caleb Martin heading to the Dallas Mavericks in the deal. Grimes is a guy who's shooting a career-high from deep on the season and won't turn 25 years old until May while Martin will turn 30 shortly before the 2025-26 season.

Butler is more of an upside guy who’ll bid for backcourt minutes. The emergence of Ricky Council IV and Justin Edwards – the latter of whom Morey said converting off a two-way to a standard contract is a priority – made both Martins expendable.

In a post-trade deadline press conference, Daryl Morey continued to envision a title-contending path for the Sixers.
