SEATAC, Wash. — The U.S. Department of Transportation will scale back required nationwide flight reductions on Friday, a move that officials say reflects improving air traffic controller staffing levels, including at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The reopening comes ahead of Thanksgiving travel, which is expected to bring an estimated 900,000 travelers through SEA Airport from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1.
