Hartwell was injured at the time and didn't return until July. After being sparingly used, she reunited with Candice LeRae, her "mom" in The Way, a group with Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory in NXT.

After five years with WWE, Indi Hartwell departed from the company on November 1, courtesy of a release. Initially, Hartwell found herself questioning her future in professional wrestling.

Indi Hartwell captured the NXT Women's Championship at NXT Stand & Deliver 2023, winning a ladder match that also featured Roxanne Perez, Gigi Dolin, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton and Zoey Stark.
