Schenn tied it at 12:09 and Simon Holmstrom’s power-play goal at 14:52 put the Islanders ahead 3-2. Emil Heineman, at 17:00, and fourth-liner Casey Cizikas, at 17:57, made it a three-goal advantage.

Heineman extended the Islanders’ lead to 4-2 at the 17-minute mark of the second. Anders Lee found him cutting in from the Islanders bench before he beat Tarasov glove side with a one-time finish.
