NFL Insiders Tom Pelissero, Ian Rapoport, and Mike Garafolo react to Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell's press conference, where he announced that quarterback J.J. McCarthy will receive a full week of preparation ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Detroit Lions.

After Thursday's loss to the Chargers, head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters McCarthy will start next week if he's healthy, which has been the case since he suffered the injury.

McCarthy will definitely be named the starting quarterback for the Vikings as soon as he's cleared.
