The FOX 5 Storm Team is warning residents to prepare for a "long duration event" starting Saturday that may last into Monday.
The major storm is set to hit starting on Jan. 23 and will stretch into the weekend, spreading snow and ice from the southern Plains to the Northeast.
The storm will be so extensive, its snow, sleet and freezing rain could stretch more than 1,500 miles from the Plains across the South and into the Northeast. Major travel disruption is a given across its entire footprint.
