The California Highway Patrol in Santa Cruz said it is investigating a deadly crash that occurred Sunday night.

A 44-year-old San Jose man died Sunday night in a crash along state Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County, the California Highway Patrol said.

A portion of southbound state Highway 17 in Santa Cruz County reopened early Monday morning after a fatal crash prompted an overnight lane closure, the California Highway Patrol said.
