A Fredericksburg resident who won the Sept. 6 Powerball jackpot has received the largest payout in Texas Lottery History.

The lucky resident, who hails from San Marcos, purchased a second-tier, winning Mega Millions ticket from a convenience store in Austin, according to a Monday, October 20, news release from the Texas Lottery. The life-changing swipe happened at a U-Pak-M located at 11940 Manchaca Road, Suite 101, Austin, TX 78748.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation said it's reviewing an incident in which piles of lottery tickets were found discarded in north Austin last week.
