Tigers’ Troy Melton shut down for rest of season with arm fatigue
DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers placed right-handed pitcher Troy Melton on the 15-day injured list Monday after he experienced forearm tightness during his start Sunday in Chicago. The move clears a spot for right-hander River Ryan to be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to start Monday’s series opener against the Washington Nationals.
Sunday's game is the last time the two teams will play this season. After a lengthy rain delay in Chicago, it is set to begin shortly.
