Israeli strikes in Gaza killed at least 20 people, including children, after Israel accused Hamas of violating the US-brokered ceasefire deal and staging the discovery of a deceased hostage.

The video, filmed by an IDF drone that had been in the area, shows Hamas members placing Tzarfati's remains in a freshly dug hole before covering the remains with dirt.

US President Trump says "nothing" would jeopardise the two-week-old ceasefire despite the flare-up of violence.

Israel rejected an initiative being advanced by the countries mediating the Gaza ceasefire that would have seen the creation of a multilateral team tasked with entering Gaza and retrieving the bodies of the remaining deceased hostages still in the Strip, two Arab diplomats tell The Times of Israel.

Egyptian excavation gear helped expand Hamas ’ search for the bodies of remaining hostages in Gaza on Saturday, while the group said Israel “clearly violated” the ceasefire with a strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to the Associated Press.

Eitan and Iair Horn were kidnapped from Nir Oz on October 7, 2023, and were held together in Gaza until Iair was released in February of 2025. Eitan was released in October 2025.
