Leonardo Baez and Nora Alicia Avila-Guel are the owners of Abby’s Bakery in McAllen, Texas, a town that shares a border with Mexico. Baez and Avila-Guel were charged after eight migrants were found at their business on Feb. 12, reports KRGV in Rio Grande Valley, Texas.

ICE did not say why it had not previously sought to detain Jose Fernando-Perez, who was placed on house arrest in 2022.

According to the complaint, the apprehension of the individuals was the result of a worksite enforcement action.
