The Ohio Tax Credit Authority greenlit a 2.59% refundable Job Creation Tax Credit on Monday for Anduril Industries, with terms that begin in 2026 and end in 2055.

Gov. Mike DeWine announced the future of American air power will be built in the State of Ohio. Defense technology firm Anduril Industries is building a new plant in Pickaway County. The governor posted the announcement to X, saying the company would establish a defense technology manufacturing facility.

The project, expected to bring over 4,000 new jobs to Ohio by 2035, marks the largest single job creation and new payroll initiative in the state's history.

From the Wright brothers to Joby Aviation, Ohio's aerospace history and present was one factor that attracted Anduril's mega-factory for producing drones and autonomous weapons systems.

The facility will focus on producing autonomous weapons systems, representing a nearly $900 million investment that is expected to contribute $1 billion annually to Ohio’s economy.

On top of bringing over 4,000 jobs, the development will also bring in more tax revenue helping schools and roads in the area.
