William Byron walked away the winner of the Daytona 500 for the second straight year on NASCAR’s biggest night.

William Byron has won the Daytona 500 for the second time in as many years. Byron took advantage of several late cautions to get to the front and became the first back-to-back winner in “The Great American Race” since Denny Hamlin in 2019-20. Tyler Reddick finished second, and Jimmie Johnson third.

Josh Berry won a caution-free Stage 1. The intensity picked up in the second stage with four cautions before Kyle Larson picked up his first career stage win on a superspeedway. The biggest of those incidents came on Lap 149 when Chase Elliott, Corey LaJoie and Brad Keselowski all sustained damage.

William Byron is a two-time Daytona 500 champion ... Bubba Wallace, Erik Jones and Kyle Larson have damage, too, and Chase Elliott got caught up in the crash at the end. What a ride for Preece, who was on the back two tires for a long time.
