San Francisco 49ers QB Mac Jones got effective protection to beat the Giants, but credit some of that success to Kyle Shanahan's plan for how to keep New York's vaunted pass rush from being a factor.

When looking at expected points added per rush, the 49ers have only played one defense that is below average in that area. The Seahawks rank first, and the Buccaneers were third. New Orleans ranks sixth, and Arizona ranks ninth, meaning half of their games this season are against top ten run defenses.

The San Francisco 49ers got back to winning ways on Sunday, and it was thanks in large part to another strong performance from star running back Christian McCaffrey.
