Powerful thunderstorms could produce a tornado just about anywhere across western Oregon the afternoon and evening of Nov. 5.
“Stronger showers and thunderstorms will have the potential to produce locally damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and/or a funnel cloud or brief tornado,” NWS Portland said in the statement.
NWS said there's a 5%-14% chance winds reach over 60 miles per hour, and a 2%-4% chance those winds turn into a tornado.
Forecast models say once any lingering showers taper off, dry conditions take hold for the rest of the weekend. Daily highs will end up in the lower 60s as mostly sunny skies dominate the region.
