After starting the season 3-3, the Penn State Nittany Lions fired head coach James Franklin. The program is tasked with finding his replacement, now sitting at 3-5 after two games under interim head coach Terry Smith.
The first Nittany Lion has now made that choice. Redshirt sophomore tight end Joey Schlaffer is no longer on the roster. The Exeter Township (Reading, Pennsylvania) product did not travel with the team to Columbus for the Ohio State loss this past weekend.
