Commanders Sign Von Miller to Solve Pass Rush Issues originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders' biggest roster hole this offseason was pass rusher; well, now general manager Adam Peters has fixed it. Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Commanders are signing two-time Super Bowl champion Von Miller.
Can Miller provide pass rush help? Dante Fowler was the only Commanders player to top 10 sacks last season, but he has since signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Washington did, however, sign Deatrich Wise, Javon Kinlaw and Jacob Martin as free agents to bolster the defensive line. Miller will now join that group.
If the assumption that Miller did not receive a massive salary is accurate, the Denver Broncos probably could have afforded to sign him (OverTheCap.com estimates Denver has more than $12.6 million in salary cap space). So, why didn't the Broncos sign Miller for the 2025 season?
Miller, a DeSoto product and former Texas A&M star, is expected to sign with the Washington Commanders ahead of the 2025 season. The veteran pass rusher took to Instagram on Wednesday night to announce his free agency move. Miller’s Instagram post included an edit of himself wearing a Commanders uniform. He donned the No. 24 in the post.
