Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens are getting another shot at Baseball Hall of Fame induction through the contemporary era committee vote scheduled for Dec. 7.
Former Tigers manager Jim Leyland was inducted in 2024 after being elected by the committee the previous year. Shortstop Alan Trammell and starting pitcher Jack Morris were elected in 2017 and inducted the following summer, becoming the first living players selected via committee since Bill Mazeroski in 2001.
Murphy's peak didn't last as long as some players in the Hall of Fame, but even so, his overall resume matches up with several already in.
