According to Deadline, the news has come as quite the shock to many, as the famed director is currently signed to Paramount, where he has gone on to create shows like " The Mayor of Kingstown," and "Tulsa King ."

The Wall Street Journal has reported that the successful showrunner has signed a deal to join NBCUniversal network once his contract with Paramount expires.
