The River Hawks are in the midst of a total roster overhaul that includes 12 new players this season, which they opened Monday with an impressive 107-55 victory over Division III Rivier. UMass-Lowell has lost 99.6% of its scoring from last year’s team (reserve forward Keenan Bey is the only returning player).

In the off-season, Facey lives in Wolcott, hometown of his wife Bianca, whom he met while at UConn. But he still gets back to Jamaica at least once a year, usually in the summer, and remains strongly rooted to the community.

Preseason recognition continued to roll in for UConn men’s basketball on Monday as both Alex Karaban and Solo Ball were named to the Naismith Trophy watch list.

Although No. 1 UConn struggled mightily from beyond the arc, the Huskies still got a convincing 79-66 win against No. 20 Louisville. Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd were business as usual, but KK Arnold might deserve the biggest shoutout for how she tipped off her junior year.

ESPN's Jay Bilas once again has UConn near the top of his preseason rankings after his lofty projections for the Huskies fell short last season.

The Gamecocks will play UConn as part of the 2026 Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase on Nov. 24, 2026, at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. It’ll mark South Carolina’s first appearance at the event since 2023.
