CINCINNATI — Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco is officially active and will start on Sunday against the Bears. Flacco is playing, despite dealing with an AC joint sprain in his throwing (right) shoulder. He suffered the injury last week.
Flacco was out of practice this week with a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder and was questionable on the injury report. The Bengals will have Jake Browning available if he ends up not being able to get through the game, and former Packers quarterback Sean Clifford is inactive and designated as the emergency third quarterback.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson was among the team's inactives for the team's NFL Week 9 game against the Chicago Bears at Paycor Stadium. Hendrickson was listed as doubtful on the team's injury report. Hendrickson did not practice Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Chicago Bears fans are buzzing with confidence that rookie running back Kyle Monangai will deliver a breakout performance in Week 9 against the Bengals
WGN Radio's Kevin Powell joined Sunday's WGN Weekend Morning News to break down Sunday's matchup between the Bears and Bengals in Cincinnati. And Powell predicts the Bears will bounce back with a win after having their four-game winning streak snapped last week by the Ravens in Baltimore.
The Bengals rank 31st in the league in rushing offense (82.9) and 4.3 yards per carry. They have an elite WR duo with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but not being able to establish a ground game has consistently hindered them.
Running back D'Andre Swift (groin) did not practice for a third straight day and was ruled out. He has been battling a groin injury for a few weeks and it finally became too much to manage this week.
