Chinese President Xi Jinping capped a three-nation Southeast Asia tour in Cambodia on Friday, promoting Beijing's reliability as the region faces economic uncertainty due to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff proposals.

China’s leader is on a charm offensive in the region, but some of Beijing’s neighbors are wary of being caught in the crossfire of a superpower rivalry.

The tariffs will disrupt existing production networks and increase costs, while damaging Washington’s image and relations with the region.
