Superman flexes its might in second weekend with $57.3 million in the North American market, and crosses $400 million worldwide.

Within its second weekend in theatres, James Gunn's Superman has risen past all odds and collected over $300 million worldwide. The earnings saw a drastic rise even on midweeks and minted $177.7 million in the US.

Gods and Monsters is officially in motion in theaters with the release of Superman, and the writer, director, and producer has scored big at the box office.

James Gunn's film introduced David Corenswet as Superman. It also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult and Nathan Fillion.

After several box office misfires, including Justice League, Black Adam and Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Bros. revamped its approach to characters in its DC stable of superheroes in 2022, hiring Gunn and producer Peter Safran to build out a new film slate featuring some of comicdom’s most recognizable names.

James Gunn is feeling “incredibly grateful” for the initial box office success of Superman and the positive reception from audiences. The filmmaker and co-head of DC Studios took to Threads on Sunday to express his appreciation after the superhero blockbuster saw an estimated global debut of $217 million.
