The Krewe of Centaur brought hundreds of people to the streets from downtown Shreveport to Clyde Fant Parkway for their Mardi Gras parade.

The Jeanerette Krewe of Ezana Mardi Gras parade has officially been called off, with no plans of being rescheduled.

Krewe of Selene and Krewe of Dionysus will follow the traditional Slidell parade route, according to the Krewe of Selene website. The parades will start on Pontchartrain Drive at Spartan Drive, head north onto Guase Boulevard and end near the Midtown Square Shopping Center, according to the Krewe of Dionysus website.

According to Carnival historian and Mardi Gras Guide founder Arthur Hardy, the city’s first organized parading organization, the Mistick Krewe of Comus, was also the first to have one of its parades featured in a printed bulletin.

The Krewe of Carrollton marked its 101st year at its annual bal masque and extravaganza with “Carrollton Takes 101” Friday at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
