A 70-year-old man died following a “firework incident” in the Bay State on the Fourth of July, according to officials. The deadly fireworks incident was reported in Wareham.

The Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission Regulations state that Massachusetts residents can buy alcohol from liquor stores on the Fourth of July. Beer, wine, and liquor can also be purchased at open grocery stores. While there are no specific hour restrictions, people should check their local liquor store’s hours.

Massachusetts is the only state in the country with a total ban on fireworks. Fireworks were banned in 1943 as a World War II measure.
