Separate storm systems are lining up to sweep across the Northeast, bringing bursts of rain, gusty winds, and even a chance for snowflakes as the region settles into November’s chill. The National Weather Service says a frontal system will bring rain to the region on Monday,

Rain comes in from the northwest and the heaviest bands look to be overnight so your Monday morning commute won’t be as rainy. But roads will still be wet, so slow down just in case. When it comes to Monday, some areas will still be breezy but with less rain.

A strong storm dropped some much needed rain on the Lehigh Valley on Thursday after weeks of mostly dry weather. Up to 3 inches of rain fell across the region, according to National Weather Service data.

After a chilly start to the morning with temperatures in the low 60s, the sun will warm up the region to the upper 70s and low 80s. The early morning cool temperatures will stretch through next week.

A moisture-starved cold front will cross the area Monday, bringing breezy conditions that will extend into Tuesday. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph are expected across the northwestern half of central Pennsylvania, with isolated showers possible in the northern tier downwind of Lake Erie on Monday afternoon.

Boston is set to see a period of seasonable weather as November kicks off, with several chilly, windy and rainy days upcoming in the next week, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

A compact coastal low is spinning up along the coast. Expect rain to fill in after sunset, first along the Crystal Coast/Outer Banks, then spreading west. The heaviest swath favors Down East Carteret and the OBX where 1″+ is likely. Farther inland, totals run a quarter to a half inch.
