Pepperdine University claims that the studios infringed on its trademarks with the fictional basketball team in the new comedy series.

Netflix’s new show Running Point has come under fire even before it is released. Pepperdine University, a private University in Malibu, California has filed a lawsuit against Netflix and Warner Bros.

The lawsuit claims the show promotes themes that don’t correspond to the university’s values, including alcohol and substance use, sexual innuendo and imagery, and foul language.
