DETROIT — Tarik Skubal felt like he gave up a lot more than four runs. The reigning American League Cy Young winner and Detroit Tigers ace delivered a shaky outing against the Seattle Mariners Friday night, something that he’s rarely done this season.

DETROIT -- Tarik Skubal suffered his first loss in more than three months as the Detroit Tigers fell to the Seattle Mariners, 12-3, on Friday night at Comerica Park. The Tigers (59-36) will play two more this weekend against the Mariners (49-45) in their final series before the All-Star break.

Skubal (10-3) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in the 12-3 loss to Seattle.

The Detroit Tigers are now all but guaranteed to have their first pitcher starting an All-Star game in over a decade.
