Patients who stop using weight loss medications are likely to return to their baseline weight within two years, a new analysis finds. Newer medications, such as Mounjaro and Wegovy, exhibit both more total weight lost and faster weight regain than older medications.

The side effects of the two drugs combined include dizziness, abnormal sensations, altered taste, insomnia, constipation and dry mouth. Topiramate also carries a risk of birth defects, so it should not be taken during pregnancy.
