GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. – A historic lodge on the Grand Canyon's North Rim has been destroyed by a fast-moving wildfire, the park said Sunday.
The wildfire that prompted highway closures and evacuations along the northern rim of the Grand Canyon more than doubled in size. It's still 0% contained.
The Grand Canyon Lodge was about 5 1/2 hours north of metro Phoenix and was the only hotel located inside the national park on the North Rim.
