Dec 21, 2024 · I installed a newer version of the Intel video driver via the Intel site and driver install package (it just dropped a few days ago). Afterwards, the Windows update reinstalled the earlier/basic driver thus wiping it out. Hopefully this issue is resolved soon by Microsoft. Otherwise, I'm going to ignore the extension. I fixed this issue by uninstalling the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller driver and the Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED driver at the same time [ use the delete option when uninstalling ], I restarted, and after a second the red x disappeared and my sound was back!!

So I have a supported cpu on my laptop but when I run the PC Health check as stated above saying CPU isn't supported to run win 11 when it is on the supported list.
