This is the reality of most parents of children with autism. It’s why we stay home so much. The overstimulation, the new places, the just because meltdowns all draw looks from the people who think we just allow our kids to act like this to get what they want. But they can’t control it any more than we can. We can only manage and change environments or just ride it out. But when it’s done they return to themselves. The anxiety disappears, the smiles returns, the hugs happen. It’s like the rainbow
