Alabama Hills has been on my list forever, especially once I learned they weren’t in Alabama 😆 (kidding, I’d love them just the same). I could probably spend a lifetime in California exploring the wildly varied landscapes. What was so great about this site is that it was not where I was trying to stay, there were no sites left! It was one of the busiest dispersed camping areas I’ve seen. We saw several campers give up and once we saw how busy it was, we knew we wanted to find somewhere quieter
