Answer - pearl cotton (aka my villain origin story) and a combination of continental and half cross stitch. What can be done to prevent this? Stitch on stretcher bars, use even tension, stitch in basketweave as much as possible, and use a friendlier thread. Continental and half cross create very uneven needlepoint stitches while basketweave gives us an even, interlocked texture. #needlepoint #needlepoint
