I'm doubling up on Lefty Frizzell songs in this Lonesome Fridays series and don't care if anyone has a problem with that! That's The Way Love Goes was a late entry into Lefty's catalog (1973) and under-the-radar at that, released as a b-side to no fanfare. If people know the song, it's usually because Merle Haggard had a hit with it in 1983. I'd heard Merle's version but the song didn't really stick with me until this past summer when it came up in several jam sessions and realized it's a doozy.
