Each year, at sunset on March 19, the Black Masking Indians of New Orleans don their elaborate suits of beads and feathers in neighborhoods throughout the city and play out ritual confrontations with song and dance. This is Big Chief Darryl Montana of the Yellow Pocahontas, debuting his new suit for the year as he faces stage 4 cancer.
