A Lovely Jubbly Jub! LMS No.5699 or BR No.45699 Galatea is currently on loan to the Severn Valley Railway for their always impressive galas. Galatea was named after the Royal Navy's light cruiser of the Arethusa class HMS Galatea who herself was named after a sea nymph from Greek mythology. However, recently Galatea has been renamed to another member of the Jubilee class that was not so fortunate to survive Sierra Leone. Many of the Jubilees were named after places in the Empire and also warship
